Nursery Caregiver

(must be 16 or older to apply)

Position Status: Part-time

Approximately 1.5 hours a week.

Sunday mornings 9:45am-11:15am

​

Compensation: $32 per Sunday. You will be paid whether there are children present or not.

Vacation: Vacation is arranged with supervisor

 

Position Summary:

This position works with the Pastor and the Parish worker, to provide care for children of parents attending worship services.

 

DUTIES OF PRIMARY CAREGIVER:

Provides continuity of care during worship services. See attached for specifics regarding position.

 

Essential Functions

This function is satisfactorily performed when

​

1) A caregiver arrives 15 minutes before service to:

​

• Get toys out

• Look over room for possible safety hazards

• Supervise the check-in and check-out of children with authorized adultb.

• Play and comfort of children is facilitated during service.

• ​

2) Toilet needs of children are attended to by parents so if needed you will need to go in and get the parent to assist their own child.

​

3) Ensure children are brought back to parents before the Eucharist.

​

4) Clean toys and put them away during the last 15 minutes of worship so the space can be used for fellowship.

​

5) Toys are disinfected and kept clean weekly.

​

6) Supplies are obtained as needed with consent of Parish Worker.

 

Job Qualifications

• Permanent nursery staff be certified in first aid and infant/child CPR by the American Red Cross

• Preferred up to date on all vaccinations.

• Experience in childcareEnjoys working with people, especially children.

• Provide 2 references and information for a formal background check.

• A probationary period of 2 months with review.

• A self-starter.
