Worship
Worship Assistants
Our Worship assistants work with the Pastor and assist with the Prayers of Intercession and serving communion. They receive the offering from the ushers and offer the dismissal. The prayers are sent to the assistant in advance so the assistant can read and study ahead of time. Please speak with Pastor Heidi of your interest. If you are already trained as an assistant sign-ups are available
in the narthex.
Chime choir
This group meets on a project-by-project basis currently, using a 2-octave set of hand chimes to play uplifting music for worship. A basic knowledge of either treble and/or bass clef and how to read rhythms is very helpful but people wanting to be a part of this ensemble can also be taught basic music reading skills as we go.
Lectors
In our worship life together, lectors offer their gift of reading a scriptu lesson at our Sunday morning services. They also serve as a communion assistant on that Sunday. If you want to be a lector but can’t serve communion we are happy to partner you with someone who will do the communion portion with you. Sign-up sheets are available on the volunteer opportunities desk in the narthex two months in advance. The text of the lesson that the lector will be reading along with a reminder will be sent in advance so the lector can study and prepare ahead of time.
Music Ministry
The Choir is for all who love to sing and make music for the glory of God. This group meets weekly from mid-September through mid-June on Sunday mornings from 9-9:45am, in the Sanctuary. The choir sings 2-3 times a month for worship. We have 3 choir retreats a year where we learn upcoming music and have meaningful fellowship with each other through prayer and a meal. We also have opportunities for playing in worship. If you play an instrument, please contact our director of music
Ushers
Ushers are a fantastic group of sincere, polite, observant and gracious folks who enthusiastically greet worshipers, graciously gather offerings, count attendance at services, and politely guide worshipers to and from the Lord’s
table. No prior experience is necessary, we have folks that can train you. Please sign up for this on the narthex table.
Belonging
Together as Stewards
The Stewardship Committee meets from June -early November, our purpose is to encourage one another to share generously our God-given gifts of time, talent, and
resources in love and gratitude. We primarily do this through the stewardship campaign in the fall and seek to expand to year-round opportunities for education in
stewarding the resources God has given to us.
